WEEK 1 SHOOTING: "Head Games"

It was a rough week, We managed to get several good shots and the actors did come on time. Although on the 2nd day it was getting a little unorganized. On the 2nd day of shoot, We were support to start filming at 10 am. Me and the sound operator, Roy Almanza, arrived at Pedit Park at the same time which was at 9:30. We thought the Director would arrive before the shoot to set the equipment up. Yet we were the only one's at the park. We check every where for the Director or Editor but no sign, The producer was of in Las Vegas, to see the cast of the Vampire Diaries. We decided to start setting up equipment. Me and the Sound Operator frustrated over opening a battery pack for the mic. We spent a good 30 minutes opening the battery pack. Just as we gave up, I gave it one more try. We finally opened it! It felt as if me and Roy were cavemen discovering fire for the first time. We started connecting the the equipment, and just as we thought we were good, Me and Roy came upon another difficulty. The sound wasn't capturing at all on the camera yet the sound monitor was in fact capturing sound. We spent almost half an hour trying to find the problem. The Actor "Ramos" played by Brian Gotlip, came. I rustled the cables a bit and I found this to be a solution. The audio started capturing, it was a matter of time before we started filming so we started adjusting levels, ETC. Having no idea where the Director is, and no possible way to contact her, The Editor, Laura Macias, Came. Everything is set up and ready to go, the only thing missing was the Director which we can't shoot without. Laura who was able to contact The Director said that she was gonna be running late. The other actor "Rose" played by Marlin Jaramillo, finally came. Still no sign of the director, Me, Roy, and Laura are starving.  We decided to leave thousands of dollars of equipment with The actor, Ramos. We went to go get some food and we finally came back. The Director finally came, now we needed to reset the the mic and see if its working. The mic didnt work. We were there a solid hour and no sign. After an hour we figured it was the cable no we had no choice but to ADR the WHOOLEEE scene,The scene with the MOST DIALOG. Now even more weight is added to our backs.  Yet I know it will come out good.

Oscars Best Actor

Hugh Jackman is nomminated for best actor for the upcomming Oscars for his recent film Les Miserables. Les Miserables is a musical about Jean Valjean who takes care of a factory worker daughter. Im not a big fan of Musicals, although I really couldnt follow the story very well. There was a point where I had no idea what was going on. Tom Hooper who also directed The Kings Speech which was very successful winning several awards. I wouldnt be able to describe Hugh Jackmans preformance because it is a musical but he was able to sing. I really didnt enjoy this movie at all. Yet Hugh Jackmans Singing was rather amazing. This recives 1.2/5

Best Supporting Actress

Jacki Weaver. You may have seen her in films like The Five Year-Engagement or Animal Kingdom. Maybe you know her from her most recent role in Silver Linings Playbook which she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress. Jacki Weaver plays the mother of a Pat whose undergoing treatment in a psychiatric facility who agrees to vouch for his behavior upon his release. Do I think she deserves to be nominated? Ehh, I dont really know. But I will go with maybe a yes. She did do a good role but there really want much to say, but dont take my word, she was a SUPPORTING actress. She did good doing a role of a mother of a son who came from the loony joint. I personally think she might win because of all the publicity the film is getting but i enjoyed it as well.

Best Picture

Argo, winner for best film in the golden globe. It was truly magnificent. Argo is abou the American embassy in Iran was invaded by Iranian revolutionaries and several Americans are taken hostage. However, six manage to escape to the official residence of the Canadian Ambassador and the CIA is eventually ordered to get them out of the country. With few options, expert Tony Mendez devises a daring plan: to create a phony Canadian film project looking to shoot in Iran and smuggle the Americans out as its production crew. With the help of some trusted Hollywood contacts, Mendez creates the ruse and proceeds to Iran as its associate producer. However, time is running out with the Iranian security forces closing in on the truth while both his charges and the White House have grave doubts about the operation themselves.

This film was personally the most suspenseful film I've seen. It will be leaving you at the edge of your seat wanting more.  It may start a little slow but it starts getting bigger and bigger, and faster and faster. I loved this film and I though it deserved best picture. I would totally recommend this to many of you. I give Argo a 4.5/5

Leia Is A New Disney Princess?

After years its finally here, Star Wars Episode VII! Disney bought another production company, and yes you could've guessed any better , Lucas Film for 4 Million dollars The buyout is Disney's fourth largest deal ever. It's behind the $19.7 billion, $7.6 billion and $5.2 billion buyouts of Capital Cities/ABC in 1995, Pixar in 2006 and Fox Family in 2001Michael Arndt, the writer of Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine already wrote a 50 page script for Star Wars Episode VII. Disney has also bought the Iron Man Franchise and many others as well. Yet fans are debating if it will be original or have the same values the original star wars had. Star wars was a big hit and a instant classic in film history, millions of fans and billions of franchises. But will it bring disappoint, we'll find out when the film is released in 2015.

Toronto Film Fest 2012

Its been 6 days since the Toronto Film Festival Started, and the audience hyped up! Many good films appeared Argo, End of Watch, and many other films, lots of famous faces like Jennifer Lawrence, Colin Firth and Ryan Gosling. The Toronto Film Fest this year was supposed to be really good, and of coarse it was, not only for the entertainment but the audience as well , as they decided to make the audience feel involved and of coarse they did. In all,  the Toronto Film Festival was a good place to be in.

The Toronto Film Festival is something every filmmaker and future filmmaker should be knowing about because sooner or later their name's gonna be in the big screen. This is just as important as the Grammy's or any movie award its something special for filmmakers or future filmmakers to learn and benefit from. Inspiration is in  the air and it could come to you.

As a future filmmaker this really give me inspiration to make a film right now. It was really an open breeze for inspiration, there were many good films this year that are different in its own special little way. You get ideas, pictures in your head, just a whole pot of inspiration. Of coarse I got some inspiration and it really did open me to a new world. Hopefully sooner or later i'll see your name on the big screen at this festival and hopefully mine.

I wonder how they got there or what it took to make it there. It could have been connection but maybe skill also. If i ever make it there how will i make it? Hopefully these answers will be answered sooner or later as I walk down the path of a Filmmaker.

Happy 100th Birthday!

Paramount Pictures is turning 100 years old today and where is this grand party you may ask? If you answered A Film studio then you are wrong. This is Big, and of course they need to celebrate in a Big place none other than, you've guessed it, The Hollywood bowl! This sunday Jason Alexander will be hosting the Honorable Paramount 100 year birthday! How else will you celebrate one of hollywood's greatest without hollywood's greatest composer, yes David Newman is gonna be there Preforming classics like "Raiders of the Lost Arc " and "Wings". Of course many Oscar nominated people are gonna be there like  Lalo Schifrin,  Alan Silvestri, and  Michael Giacchino.  "I am happy to be there with Lalo Schifrin" Said by Michael Giacchino "I remember when I worked on my first 'Mission: Impossible' movie, I felt like I needed to talk to him and figure out if it was OK that I was doing the movie — the same way you would go and ask a father if you could marry [his] daughter. We had lunch together. I said, do you have any suggestions or anything I should do? He said just have fun." This party is gonna be huge so Happy 100th Birthday paramount!

100 Years! Jesus Christ Thats old! this really caught me because I only thought Paramount was around for maybe 50 years but to keep a successful film company like that for 100 years is really astonishing. Also to see that big faces in holy wood going is really awesome, Is there gonna be a live streaming? is it gonna be on TV? Its a Pretty Big event and I really hope it turns out really good, besides you're only 100 once.

If i ever had my own film company I'd probably only have it for at least 5 years, and this really inspires me to keep going even if I do have a film company or not.  I probably  not gonna ever have 100 years in the film industry but it sure would be pretty nice to be known  in the film industry. I hope if I'm ever a Big Director, Producer, Ect.  If I ever have a film company i'll keep going because i know it will be my main priority.

What does it take to be this big in the industry? How do they start off as a little speck on a glass to a huge company, will I ever achieve something this big and memorable?  Sometime my questions are never answered but I hope asIi mature these questions will all makes sense, but in the end there's just one last thing to say to Paramount... Happy 100th !
